Making Something Out Of A Broken Shell
Second time I tried to do a cast out of my new one-piece mould. Working too fast and rushing it, I managed to accidentally fill it with compound before the shell was finished.
Still not sure what I’m gonner do with it yet, but hey ho hum.
It’s not finished I don’t think. And it’s Singular, not part of a set.
Documentation of my 4 most recent brains.
Still haven’t decided on a title for them or how to install them but physically they are finished.
Documented like this because they catch the light completely differently every time you change their angle. You have to move around them to get their full impact.
Boom.

Boredom is the new fuel for creativity!
Spent a large proportion of this week going mental creating huge brains. Time consuming, painstaking - yet satisfying.
So far acquired; one clay sculpture, one left side mould, two left side casts and the majority of a right side mould.
So far destroyed; one potato peeler, one paintbrush, three plastic shot glasses, a pudding bowl, my left index finger and the kitchen floor.
Winning.
Finally got the balance back after having destroyed two brains and not having successfully made any. I now have two. Winner.
Quick Cerebral Portraits - ‘GiantWorks’ meets ‘ArtToBuildAFutureOn’
Just mucking about seeing how the patterns adapt to being mirrored and stretched.
Yesterday we went for a walk and forgot about the world for a few hours. We had no deadlines, no hospital appointments, no decisions to make, no obligation to do anything else at all. Just for a few hours, we were just two girls, with nothing to lose.
Here it is. The brain, finally. Its so so so fucking tiny! The film canister at the side is a standard 35mm canister, just to give you some sort of idea of just how small we’re talking here! Its amazing, and its now chillin’ in my freezer ready to be cast tomorrow.
